"The artist Nathalie Rao (Versailles 1968, lives and works in Paris) participated in the Parisian art scene of the 2000s by becoming co-founder of the contemporary art space "Public" with other artists and curators independent. His work, composed of videos, photographs, drawings, performances and installations, reflects on themes such as:  the experience of the city, space and the body, the ephemeral, chance and the notion of multiple.

Without any fracture, the artist designs his works sometimes as a way of removing, sometimes as a way of adding, in a creative Janism before which the spectator becomes an active and curious user.

His modus operandi rooted in the ego and in his close relationship that he weaves with the surrounding world (that of everyday life and life), therefore belongs to this circle of artists destined to take their first steps with the difficult "charge » of the artistic research of the 60s and 70s, mediated by this generation of artists called to go beyond the consolidated successes of the European trans-avant-garde, by rediscovering the poetics of the common and of minimal intervention.

Academically trained at the Ecole d'Art Nationale de Cergy – FR, his works have been presented in exhibitions in international centers and museums such as: Musée Adzac, Paris (1991); Passages Contemporary Art Center, Troyes (2001); Center for Contemporary Art, Sète (2002); Palais de Tokyo, Paris (2003); FRAC Champagne-Ardenne, Reims (2005); Le Salon du Salon, Marseille (2014), Aather Art Space, Sophia (2020); SoutHeritage Foundation for Contemporary Art, Matera (2023)"  .
